I can’t believe we are only 2 1/2 weeks away from Christmas. Shoot! Where did the time go?!?! Here I was thinking I had all the time in the world to make all of our DIY gifts and now it’s already crunch time. Zoey does not allow for much to get done during crunch time, so I guess I better get started like, yesterday…
It’s rough this year! With a new car payment, daycare, baby rations, etc. we are really having to buckle down. Thank God for Wing Tuesdays and happy hour at Buffalo Wild Wings, because I don’t know if I could just go cold turkey. We’re really cutting back on the non-necessities and that means getting awful creative for Christmas.
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’m painfully addicted to Pinterest. There are so many great ideas out there that I’ve pinned! But alas, I’ve tried a whole whopping goose egg of them. Nada. Well, I did try a recipe or two but we’re talking actual craft projects… ok wait, I did do one. Are you enjoying the inner conflict going on in my head right now? I did do the “thought tree” for Zo’s baptism. Righhht… so that was a pointless paragraph. How about this? I’ve done a few projects but really should be more ambitious about test driving a couple more. Again, I have to give mad props to YHL for turning me on to Pinterest. And then, I shake my fist at them for adding to the already lengthy list of unhealthy addictions in my addiction inventory… right up there with Angry Birds and cheese.
I’m hoping, that by making all our gifts this year, I’ll save a ton of moolah and really put a lot of thought into what I give. I can tell you that when I receive homemade gifts, they mean a lot more to me than some store-bought randoms. Not that I don’t love a good store-bought random every once in a while ;).
I’ve got some ideas floating around in this empty head of mine. I’d like to preface these projects by saying that these are not the gifts I’ll be giving this holiday season. I can’t give away the surprise! Just thinking that maybe you’re also considering making your Christmas gifts this year. I highly recommend Pinterest for the craziest and coolest ideas… or try one of these (click on the image to be taken to the tutorial):

Your homework: JOIN PINTEREST! :) Just prepare to dedicate a large chunk of your day to the virtual pin board! ;) I’d love to hear about any projects you are doing for Christmas this year! I’m really hitting my crafty stride and I need something to take my mind off of how much I miss cheese (dang but blessed 90 Day Challenge!)!
Off topic, but please remember to thank WWII vets today. It’s the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Their brave sacrifices helped shape the freedoms we enjoy today! Thank you to all WWII Veterans for your service.
